Srey's story

Srey J., 52, is married and resides with her husband and three children in Kampong Cham Province, Cambodia, an area known for rubber plantations. J. and her husband are farmers, earning an income of about $1 each per day. Two of her children are employed at a local garment factory, earning an income of about $3 each per day. Every month the family has to spend $41 on food, $3 on their children's education and $20 on other expenses.

J. is requesting a loan of $1,000 to purchase a motorbike for the family's use. In the future, she would like to use any additional profit to repair her house. This is her first loan from CREDIT, a long-standing Kiva partner in Cambodia.
