A loan of $375 helped costs of planting and maintaining crops.

Carmen's story

Carmen is 43 years old and lives with his wife and children in the Los Pinos neighborhood in the district of Pimentel, an agricultural region located next to the highway that joins the Pimentel and Chiclayo districts.

He began working in agriculture when he was young when he planted several kinds of vegetables in a plot close to his home. Today, he plants sweet potatoes, onions, and cilantro. He sells his harvest in the Los Pathos wholesale market in the city of Chiclayo. His children help him with his work because it is their only source of income that they can count on to get ahead.

Carmen wants to purchase fertilizer and pesticides to provide maintenance to the crops he has planted. He would also like to prepare part of his land to grow radishes. He doesn't have enough money to do this, so he decided to request a loan of 1000 nuevos soles from Edpyme Alternativa for the first time.

He is a father who is dedicated to his family and every day makes his best effort to bring them up well. His greatest wish is to give his children the opportunity to study for a better career, which will give them a promising future.
