Fanny Amarily's story

The community bank named Maria the Helper meets in the La Sequita district belonging to Montecristi in the Manabita region. The population is hard working, dedicated, and proud of their heritage. La Sequita is a district whose inhabitants are honest and only want to work and support their families.

Fanny is 43 years old and she has been married since she was 26 years old. She has 5 children, 4 are of legal age and the youngest is 15 years old. Although they are all grown they still live at home. Her husband sells chicken meat from a stand in the Tarqui market in the city of Manta.

She has a grocery store and she also sells some basic medicines and prepaid telephone cards. These give her an extra source of income. She works every day from 7a.m. until 7p.m. She has a large client base because her store has a good variety of products: meats, cheeses, canned fish etc. Her children help her with the store when they are not busy. She has had this business for many years now and it has been successful. She purchases her merchandise in the city of Portoviejo and in Manta, but she also makes private purchases from individuals.

This loan will be used to restock her store with products. She has been a member of the Community Bank for the past 7 years and she has greatly enjoyed it.

Her goal is to expand her business even more.
