A loan of $1,075 helped to purchase ceramics and decorations to meet client demand.

Maria's story

Maria is 46 years old and she is a very happy mom. She is separated and she lives in her own home together with her two daughters. For more than 9 years she has sold merchandise and general crafts. Every month she travels to the provinces from where she collects household items and ceramics. In the beginning her customers were her family and some friends. But with time she started to gain new clientele. What she most enjoys about her job is having to travel to the provinces. It serves as a distraction and at the same time she is able to secure her own source of income. She has had this business for more than 9 years and what she plans for the future is to travel throughout the entire country, to do some socially conscious work and gain some support for the most in need in the district where she lives. This is her fifteenth loan through MFP (Kiva Field Partner) and she knows she must make her payments on time and she is committed to doing so. She is the leader of a group and as such she is very responsible. With the loan requested she will purchase more ceramics and other decorations and to fill some outstanding orders.
