Dinanga Plus Group's story

“Dinanga Plus” is a group of 24 owners of small businesses chaired by Rodrigues. Its members are jointly liable for loans granted by Kiva to grow their businesses.

Rodrigues has been selling second hand clothing since 2004. She started her business selling tea and coffee. Over the years, her business prospered through determination and hard work, and she has been able to build a loyal customer base that has stabilized her business. With good management and savings, Rodrigues has been able to increase her working capital today. She sells at the market located in the eastern area of Kinshasa and her business makes $50 per week. She is confident with her business and she is determined to someday be a second hand clothing importer and provider in DRC in general and Kinshasa in particular. Rodrigues is 35 years old, married, and has three children between the ages 2 and 8. Two of them go to school.
