Nancy Marlene's story

Nancy Marlene C. is a member of the Señoras de Taguan [Women of Taguan] community bank. She lives in the Taguan community, which belongs to the Sigsig canton, whose people make straw hats, raise animals and farm. Nancy does housework, raises livestock and sells the milk that she obtains. She also raises hogs, sheep and guinea pigs, and sells her animals in the Gualaceo market. Nancy is very young. She is 21, married and has one 3-year-old child. Her husband works in construction. She does not have her own home because she lives in her mother's home sharing the costs. This is her third loan and she will invest it in the purchase of chickens, vitamins and food to expand her business. Her dream is to buy herself a plot of land.
