A loan of $325 helped to buy construction materials for building a room, in order to make her children more comfortable.

Maria Nela's story

María Nela is a hard-working woman with a desire to improve her situation. She runs a business to support her family. She has had two children and her husband works as a supervisor. Her business is a pulpería [small grocery store] that she started three years ago with savings that her husband gave her. It has improved their income enough to pay the basic expenses of water and electricity.

With the loans she has received previously, she has been able to invest more in merchandise, which has been good for growing her inventory and achieving more sales.

She wants to build a room with this loan, as their house is small and she wants her children to be in better conditions. To start construction, she will buy construction materials like: stone, sand, cement, ceiling beams, and corrugated metal sheets.
