A loan of $375 helped to purchase seeds and fertilizer for her next sowing season.

Elizabet's story

Elizabet, age 35, is a very honest and hard-working woman. She is married to Ivan, age 28. She lives with her two children, Camila, age 4, and Yamila, age 2, in the home of her uncle, in the town of Palcamayo. She sells vegetables in the local market every Friday, thanks to her 6 plots of land, two of which are leased. She has been farming for 6 years, which is enough time to generate demand for her vetetables in the capital. She is very happy with the success that she has obtained. She says that she is 100% dedicated to her crops and that all of her crops are profitable; "we just have to make the most of the planting seasons", she says. In the past few months, she has already harvested a large quantity of good-quality spinach thanks to the care and dedication that she provides them. Furthermore, she says that she enjoys caring for them and watching them grow. Next, she will plant lettuce and carrots; so she hopes to finish saving up and to be able to buy more lands to plant. This is her first loan with MFP and she hopes to learn a lot about the training that they offer in her community bank. With the 1000 soles, she will purchase seeds, fertilizer and medicine for her next sowing season.
