Purevsuren T. lives with her teenage son in the Uvurhangai province in central Mongolia. She and her son live together in their "ger," a traditional Mongolian tent home.
Purevuren operates a cosmetics business in her town. She sells a variety of cosmetic products in the local community. She started her business in 2001 by renting a stall at the local market and since then has built a successful operation. Depending on her sales, she travels once or twice a month to Ulaanbaatar to purchase products to sell.
For the future, Purevsuren hopes to grow her business. She is a very friendly and polite person and is requesting a 3,000,000 Mongolian tugriks loan to purchase more cosmetics at wholesale prices from Ulaanbaatar, a capital city of Mongolia, for her business.
This loan is being administered through XacBank, a Mongolian for-profit microfinance institution. XacBank is located in every province of Mongolia, reaching some of the most rural micro business clients. With this Kiva loan, there is an opportunity for the entrepreneur to get a savings account including 9% of the interest if they pay back the loan on time. This is a special savings account that XacBank has specifically prepared for the Kiva loan borrowers to promote savings habits.
