Mujeres Activas Group's story

This committee was founded in the Barrio San Juan in the southern part of the city of Fernando de la Mora, with the help of another group working in the same area. It now has 13 members, all of whom are neighbors.

Bettina Arminda G. R. D. is the committee's director. She is 40 years old, divorced, and has two children (two boys, who are 9 and 4 respectively). She has lived with her mother, Arminda R. D., since she was two.

Bettina sells women's, men's, and children's clothes, usually on request.

She frequently travels to Buenos Aires to get garments for women, such as jeans and blouses. Then, with her mother's help, she sells the clothes to acquaintances, neighbors, and relatives.

She would like to increase her business by buying sports shoes to sell, as this will raise her income.

She wants her children to study and have a profession.
