A loan of $375 helped buy materials for construction on his poultry farm.

Javier's story

Javier is 40 years old and lives with his wife and son in a rented house. For several months he has sold small animals like chickens and ducks, which he purchases wholesale from large farms to resell to restaurants and at livestock shows. He also works as a taxi driver during the week and sells the animals on the weekends. His wife occasionally helps him with this business since it is very profitable, but it requires great dedication and effort. He always tries to acquire well-fed animals so he can sell them for a good price; it is for this reason that he wants in the future to have his own poultry farm where he can have a large number of animals.

This is Javier's sixth loan with MFP. He is very happy to know that he has financial support since they know he is responsible with his payments. He is also grateful to be part of his communal bank because all its members are people he knows, and they are responsible and very close-knit. He thanks all the people who have made this loan possible, and it will be very useful to him in his business' growth. With the loan he is requesting, he will invest in the purchase of corrugated metal sheets since he will begin construction on his farm.
