This Kiva borrower is a 52-year-old married woman from Lebanon. From the past fifteen years, she has been selling a wide range of goods from her home to customers from her community. She is well known in her town for the delicious home-made products she produces.
She believes that her business would be better if she were to sell her goods in a different part of Lebanon. That’s why, she is asking for a loan of US$ 1000 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase milk in order to produce Lebanese food products and deliver her products to other areas. In the future, she would like to rent a space to sell her merchandise from, as well as selling her popular home-made food products. For the time being, she will continue to sell goods from her home.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
