Yrene's story

Yrene is a 38 year old mother who lives with her husband and four children in the San Isidro Desaguadero sector of the village of Calazán, a rural area in the district of Monsefú. This community is located twenty minutes away from the city of Chiclayo.

For the past ten years, Yrene has been selling bread and milk at a street corner in one of the neighborhoods near the central part of the city of Chiclayo. She engages in her business every day and has built up a group of loyal customers throughout the time she has been working. The bread is acquired in the area where she lives and the milk comes from a cow that she raises at home. This business enables her to help her husband, who is a farmer, with the family expenses.

Yrene wants to expand her business by venturing into the sale of other dairy products such as cheese and butter. In addition, she wants to sell different cured meats such as ham and sausage. To accomplish these objectives, she has decided to apply for her first loan from Edpyme Alternativa in the amount of 500 PEN.

Yrene is a cheerful and friendly woman. Her neighbors and customers have great respect for her and consider her to be a woman who is dedicated to her family and her work. Her greatest wish is to provide her children with the opportunity to study for a college degree.
