Focus Group's story

Amos K., who is holding the sign, is the leader of this group of five borrowers called Focus. He is 32 years old single, and has two children who are between the ages of nine-months and three years. He was only able to attend school through 12th grade due to financial constraints. For five years, he has been operating a foreign exchange bureau and selling phone cards in Thinkers' Village on the outskirts of Monrovia, Liberia. He plans to use his 6,000 Liberian Dollars portion of this 30,000 Liberian Dollars group loan to buy more phone cards. He describes himself as determined man whose goals are to improve his business and continue to educate his children.
