A loan of $300 helped purchasing seeds and fertilizer.

Judith's story

Judith is a hardworking woman who is 40 years old. She is married to Marino, who is also 40, and the two of them have 5 children, though only 2 of their children currently live with them: 9-year-old Fiorela and 3-year-old Medaly. They live in their own house, which is located in the town of Pian. For 3 years Judith has made a living selling vegetable stew and máchica (toasted barley flour). Every day she goes out to sell these products in her shop, which is located in the center of the town. She enjoys her work because it seems very profitable, and that is why she decided a year ago to transport her products to her country’s capital so that she could sell them there. Being an ambitious woman, Judith also grows barley with her husband, and thinks that by increasing her capital she will be able to increase her profits and thus provide a better life for their daughters. This is Judith’s tenth loan with Kiva partner MFP, and she greatly appreciates the support that her communal bank provides. She will use the loan she is requesting to purchase merchandise, seeds, and fertilizer so that she can plant her crops.
