A loan of $900 helped buy seeds and fertilizer.

Juan's story

Juan, age 66, lives with his wife and their two daughters. Edith is 38, and Gisela is 20. They live in their own house, which is located in the town of Pian. He leaves early everyday to work as a bricklayer. In the afternoons he helps his wife at home. His youngest daughter, Gisela, is not able to walk due to an accident.

Nevertheless, it gives him time to be able to plant flowers on his farm. He likes working in the field. “It is the only time that I am able to be with my whole family,” he says. On the other hand, he has to constantly travel to the capital because that is where he sells the flowers that he grows. He has been doing this work for 46 years. In time he wishes to build a better house for his family to be able to live comfortably.

This is his third loan with MFP. He knows all of the activities and the way to work with his communal bank, which fills him with much enthusiasm. He will use the loan that he is requesting to buy seeds and fertilizer for the flowers that he grows during these months.
