Minda's story

Minda M. is from the village of Flores, Naguillan, Isabela. She is 42 years old and has a school-aged child. To make a living, Minda operates a jeepney transportation service to the local community. Minda has been engaged in her business for over two years and earns approximately 8,000 Philippine pesos (PHP) a month from it.

In 2009, Minda joined ASKI to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Minda has successfully repaid a previous loan of 5,000 PHP from ASKI. This previous loan was used to repair an existing vehicle for better service. Minda is requesting a new loan of 7,000 PHP, which will be used to repair another transport vehicle used in the business. This will be the second loan taken out by Minda from ASKI. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to pay the tuition fees of her children.
