The Kiva borrower is a 46-year-old married man and father of 4 children whom 3 are still attending the school. After being laid off by his previous employer, he decided to open a small cafeteria in his town. He is satisfied with the decision to start his own business, because with its income, he is able to continue paying for his childrens' education. His cafeteria is known as a comfortable place by the clients who visit him to have a good time. Today, he is requesting to borrow $1000 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to renew his business tools.
In the coming years, he is planning to expand his cafeteria to attract more customers.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
