A loan helped purchase more fertilizer.

Rosmeri's story

Rosmeri, who is 20, is a very simple and happy young woman. She lives in her parents' house and what she wishes for most is to get ahead in life. In the small community of Miraflores, Rosmeri has spent the greater part of her life. At a young age, she learned her family business and it is due to this that now she is dedicated to farming bananas and coffee, work that has provided her with the income necessary to support herself. Everything that she produces, she sells in the market in the city of Merced, which is where she obtains the greatest prices for her products. What she likes most about her job is sowing her land, which she does with much care. She has been doing this work for three years and considers transporting goods to market the most difficult part since the means of transportation are scarce in her area. With time, she wishes to buy new land with the goal of increasing production in mind. This is her third loan with MFP. She has been punctual with her payments and hopes to do the same now. In her community bank, she is very active and is well-liked by the rest of the members. With the 1,800 new "soles" requested, she will buy more fertilizer for her farm.
