A loan of $725 helped to weed her coffee fields.

Blanca's story

Blanca, age 50, is a very unassuming and hard-working woman. She lives in her own house with her husband, Italo. What she wishes for most is to have a better future.

Blanca cultivates coffee and bananas. She works the land every morning with her husband. She knows that the quality of the products that she will take to sell at the La Merced market depends upon the good care that they gives the crops. What she likes most about her work is planting and giving the plants the necessary care. She has been doing this for 30 years. She considers the most difficult part to be transporting her products. The sacks of products that she carries are very heavy.

In time she wishes to buy more land to increase her production. This is her third loan with MFP. She is saving in order to make her payments on time. She does not want to cause problems for the members of her communal bank. She is very happy with her communal bank. The 2,000 soles that she is requesting are to pay for weeding her coffee crops.
