Sunilda's story

Sunilda V. D. I., age 43, is married to Alvino I.. They have two sons, Emanuel and Sergio; they go to high school. They have a daughter, Mercedes, who is in seventh graD..

She is a nurse and a merchant. She has a business in her house in the Santa Lucia neighborhood in the city of Colonel Oviedo. When she was very young she worked as a nurse in a private sanitarium in the city. With the money they gave her as compensation when she left she was able to equip a small pharmacy in her home.

A short while after, and with great effort, she began to win customers. She takes blood pressures and gives injections and first aid to her neighbors and friends.

As the years passed and her husband became ill, they had to sell his taxi and invest in her business. This way she was able to expand her business. She currently manages it with her husband and their children.

Sunilda is grateful to the Fundación Paraguaya and Kiva for the support. Thanks to this loan she was able to buy more products like noodles, cookies, milk, yogurt, flour, rice, soft drinks, syrup, injectables, syringes, analgesics, tooth paste, sweets, and coffee, etc. She did this to be able to keep offering her customers good quality basic needs products.
