The “Les Vaillants de Romeo” group has 15 male and female entrepreneurs. They are all excited about receiving this loan to expand their current businesses. The group has a wide range of businesses from sneakers and various footwear to restaurants and vegetables to a bakery.

Emmanuel is the group coordinator. He has a wife and seven children. This hardworking dad is the owner of one of the only bakeries in his community. He specializes in fresh bread but he also makes pastries and cakes upon request. He became interested in and motivated others to join Esperanza because of the good things he heard that it was doing in his community and other nearby areas. He is looking to grow his business by purchasing larger quantities of baking goods. He dreams of having a larger home and a more profitable business.

On behalf of Emmanuel, Les Vaillants, and Esperanza we thank you for your support.

Additional Information

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
