A loan of $550 helped to buy products and ingredients for the breakfasts she makes.

Aurea's story

Aurea, 41, lives in her own house with her husband, Luis, 44, and their young daughter. Together, with a strong wish to get ahead in life, they live in a neighborhood in the north side of the city.

She rises at dawn every day to start preparing the breakfasts that she offers her regular diners. She has been in this business for 3 years. So it is that before 8am we can find her out with her cart selling breakfasts to her customers who are employed in various area businesses.

She sells hot beverages and various stuffed breads all morning and is usually sold out by noon. She returns home satisfied with her sales and starts to get the ingredients for the next day’s breakfast preparation. Profits from these sales help her husband meet household expenses.

Sometimes, when her daughter isn’t doing school work, she helps out but she usually works by herself. As an enterprising woman, she plans for the future to expand her business and set up a stand in one of the area markets to sell breakfasts and lunches.

This is the 2nd loan from MFP and she promises to repay on time because she is very grateful to all the people who funded the loan that will allow her to keep working in search of progress.

Aurea plans to use the funds to buy ingredients she needs to continue making breakfasts at wholesale. In addition, she will use part of the funds to buy two tires to replace the old ones on her husband’s car that he uses for work.
