Emilsa Rosa's story

Emilsa B., who is married and has two children who are 22 and 23 years old, has a business that all her family have become involved in and she dreams of seeing it grow and turning it into a substantial company. This business is called Body Strong, and it is a gym that she started when her husband retired from the police. She made good use of her studies in the gymnastic skills institute and put them into service for the community and little by little invested in the infrastructure and has been operating the gym since 2006. The gym is an additional income source for her to help her children take courses at the university. Emilsa and her husband work in the business and her children have gradually got involved when they have time from their studies. With her loan from Kiva, which is her first loan through Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, Emilsa intends to buy a machine for leg exercises and a cardio machine and so to offer a better service to her clients and make the gym more a part of the community.
