A loan of $900 helped to purchase undergarments and t-shirts.

Ligia Aracely's story

The community bank named May 3 meets every two weeks in the district of Picoaza in the city of Portoviejo. The location is known for its commerce, for its traditional feast days of San Pedro and San Pablo, and for the generally happy population.

Ligia is 55 years old but she is full of energy. She has been married for 36 years and from this beautiful marriage came 5 children. They are all grown but two are still living at home.

She has a business selling undergarments of all kinds but she also sells t-shirts. She and her husband manage the store located in a section of their home. They work from 8am to 6pm. They sell in wholesale to retailers in the region. They complete their sales in credit and they always offer their merchandise at a good price. They purchase their merchandise in the city of Guayaquil where they travel once a month or more often if they receive special orders.

This loan will be used to purchase more merchandise. She has filled many orders and she still has many orders outstanding.

Her goal is to advance and to purchase a good car.
