A loan of $725 helped buy sacks of fertilizer.

Lucia's story

Lucia is 56 years old and lives with her sisters in her own house. Since her childhood she has worked at different jobs in the countryside sowing potatoes, olluco [a tuber] and wheat among other products, and to carry out these tasks she receives her sisters' support, but when she needs to do a more arduous job, she hires laborers. Each day she checks over the lands she has farmed. She also goes to graze her sheep in the countryside while she waits for the planted products to mature so she can harvest them and take them to the suppliers' market in the nearest city so they can be sold. The economic resources that this activity generates for her have motivated her to keep trying. For this reason she wants to increase this activity. It is Lucia's seventh loan with MFP. She is very happy to know that she has financial support because she has always shown that she is responsible with her payments. She is also grateful to be part of her communal bank because all its members are responsible people and are very united. She thanks those people who will be managers of the loan she is requesting, and it will be very useful to her in the progress of her business. With the loan she is requesting, she will buy potato seeds and sacks of fertilizer.
