A loan of $375 helped to purchase merchandise for his store.

German's story

Germán is 38 years old, married, and has three children. They live in the town of Quimbiri, located in the beautiful Peruvian rainforest, where they have their own house made of wood. Germán says that, in the world of business, “Relationships are very important, as it is these that will determine how successful a person will be”. Germán began to associate with his potential clients with the aim of getting them interested in his coffee-selling business, from which he receives a good income. Not content with this, Germán made inroads into another business in order to distinguish himself from the competition. He therefore owns a grocery shop, which is managed by his beloved wife. Germán sometimes helps with this new business; however, he is normally busy cultivating his coffee plantations from Monday to Saturday, 7am till 6pm, and also sells his products in the locality. He normally receives help from his family, but during harvest time he relies on farm workers to assist him, which helps him with the entire harvesting process. Germán’s future plans include being able to sell clothes in order to substantially increase his income, whilst at the same time improve his standard of living. This is his second loan with MFP, and Germán promises to faithfully abide by the terms of the loan agreement. He is also happy with his community bank as it allows him to save from the profits of his business. With this loan, Germán wants to purchase merchandise for his shop and therefore be able to vary his wares.
