A loan of $550 helped to purchase fertilizer.

Leonor's story

Leonor is 39 years old. She is a very unpretentious and hard working woman. She lives in her own home together with her husband Wilmer, 42 years old, and their two beloved children. They are the reason for all of her efforts. With arduous work Leonor has managed to provide for her family by working the fields. Before the first rays of sun she walks close to an hour to reach her fields. There she has planted potatoes, corn, and sweet peas. She takes the harvest all the way to the city of Tarma to sell in the wholesale market. What she most enjoys about her work is cultivating the fields, especially because it has given them positive results. She has 20 years' experience in the business. The most difficult part of the work is having to transport her products to the city of Tarma. The sacks she carries are very heavy and it drains her energy. In time she hopes to purchase more land to increase production. This is her third loan with MFP (Kiva Field Partner). She is very happy to have access to this loan and she would like to thank all the people that make this possible. In her community bank she is a very well respected member for the organization she brings to the meetings. With the one thousand five hundred nuevos soles she requests she will purchase more fertilizer to make her fields more productive.
