A loan of $725 helped to purchase fertilizer.

Juana's story

Juana is 62 years old. She is a woman that has always worked hard to advance in life. She lives in her own home together with her son Oswaldo, 40 years old. What she wants most is to have a comfortable old age. Together with her son she works the fields every day. With a great deal of effort she has managed to keep her fields productive. She cultivates all kinds of things now, taking pride that every product will be of the highest quality. Her principal plantation is potatoes, alfalfa, and sweet peas. These are the products that sell best in the markets. Her favorite part of the work is warding her plantations for insects that may harm them. She has 44 years experience in the field. The most difficult part is having to transport the harvest all the way to the wholesale markets in Tarma, where she sells her products. In the future she hopes to purchase more land to increase her production. This is her sixth loan with MFP (Kiva Field Partner) and she sees this loan as a great help in the development of her business. She is a very responsible and proud member in her community bank. With the two thousand nuevos soles she requests she will purchase fertilizer to improve the productivity of her fields.
