A loan of $225 helped inventory.

Rosa Eliana's story

Rosa is a member of the “Las Perlas II” (The Pearls II) communal bank, located in the district and province of Huancané, within the Puno department. She is a 41 year old single mother and has one son. She has a high school education.

Rosa has been working with the “Movimiento Manuela Ramos” (Manuela Ramos Movement), as a group and now a communal bank, for eight months. She tells us that her first loan was for 500 PEN, which she used as working capital for her grocery business.

This time she is requesting a loan of 600 PEN ($225), which will allow her to buy more merchandise for her grocery store.

She wants to have secure stability and she needs to increase her capital and grow her business. What she enjoys the most about her communal bank is its members’ responsibility and timeliness.
