Esther B., who is holding the sign, is the leader of this group of five borrowers called T.’s Group. She is 55 years old, married, and has nine children who are between the ages of 15 to 36 years old. She was not able to attend school due to financial constraints.

For ten years, she has been selling rice, beans, cooking oil and fish in the “Old Road” Market outside of Monrovia, Liberia. She plans to use her 12,000 Liberian Dollars portion of this 69,000 Liberian Dollars group loan to buy more rice, cooking oil, meat, fish, and beans.

She describes herself as an easy-going woman whose dream is to improve her business.
