Blessing Women Group's story

Comfort N., who is holding the sign, is the leader of this group of five borrowers called Blessing Women. She is 42 years old, married, and has seven children between the ages of six and 18 years old. She was only able to attend school to eleventh grade due to financial difficulty. For fifteen years, she has been selling lappas(a traditional dress for women) in various communities around Monrovia, Liberia. She plans to use her 6,000 Liberian Dollars portion of this 30,000 LRD group loan to buy more bags of lappas (a traditional dress for women). She describes herself as a very hard-working woman whose dreams are to improve her business and build a house. In the photo that accompanies this profile, Beatrice is inset at lower right because she was absent during disbursal.
