Martha Adriana's story

Mrs. Martha Adriana L. is a member of the La Inmaculada (Immaculate Conception) communal bank. She lives in Ingapirca which is part of Santa Ana parish. Its climate is cold, typical of the mountains. Most of the population is into farming and animal raising. Many of its residents work a variety of jobs in the city of Cuenca.

Martha, 21, is very young. She’s married and has 2 children who are 4 and 3 years of age. Her husband is a truck driver. Both work hard because they are building their house.

Martha works cleaning houses. She works Monday to Friday. She doesn’t have a fixed work schedule and has been in this line of work for 2 years. At home she raises chickens, pigs and guinea pigs.

She is a member of the communal bank. The loans have benefited her business. The new loan will be used to buy building materials and supplies for her house construction like: cement, sand, etc.

Her goal is to finish building her house and installing a store in it.
