Julia Silvania
Julia , 54, has a paper goods store in the front part of her house. She lives in a periurban zone in El Paraíso, Guayaquil, an area noted for its unpaved, hilly streets.

She’s had the store for 21 years to help meet family expenses since she’s a widow and wants to be able to spend time with her two children.

She started out selling paper goods from home to her neighbors and gradually built a space for it in the front part of her house; she opens for business at 8am.

To continue working she needs a loan to buy stock items. In the future she’d like to expand her business still more to insure a good future for her children.
