A loan of $200 helped to buy ingredients to prepare meals.

Liz's story

37 year old Liz lives in her own house with 2 of her 5 children, the rest are older and live independently. She has been separated from her former partner for some time. Since she was very young, this hardworking woman has worked in a variety of roles, and she currently sells salchipapas (a fried dish made from potatoes and hot dog sausage) from a special fried-food cart. Her day starts very early when she goes to the market in search of the basic ingredients for making her dishes, and in the afternoon she prepares the food she will sell in the evening. When the evening comes, she starts her work selling her customers this tasty meal, and she sometimes stays open until after midnight. But, she says that the reward for this diligent work is the income that she gets from selling her meals daily, and she has regular clients who enjoy the food that she makes. At the same time as this work, she also offers a cleaning and cooking service to a family that employs her off and on. As she is a woman with many plans in mind for getting ahead, she is thinking of growing her business and improving customer satisfaction. This is the first loan she has had from MFP, and she is very grateful to all the people who are making it possible and helping her to keep working and seeking progress. Liz plans to use the loan to buy ingredients to stock her business and continue cooking in order to provide the best to her regular diners.
