A loan of $725 helped to purchase more handmade crafts to improve her business.

Dora's story

Dora, 39, lives in her own house with her 10-year-old son Jesús. They live in a dwelling located in a populous neighborhod north of the city. From an early age she liked art, which is why when she had to support her young son alone, she could not think of a better idea than making glass handicrafts. A year ago, Dora set up her stall selling all kinds of crafts in a market in a very commercial area of the city visited by tourists. She shares the work of managing the stall with an assistant so that they can take turns opening up shop. She says proudly that her stall is open for business from Monday to Friday, and weekends are devoted entirely to producing glass handicrafts. Dora enjoys shaping the glass, painting it, and finishing shaping it to produce a product that decorates rooms around the world. Her excellent customer service skills generate a good income, which allows her to raise her child without difficulty. Because Dora is such an enterprising woman, she plans to expand her business by stocking her stall with a variety of merchandise in order to offer the best to her customers. This is her first loan with Kiva Partner MFP and she promises to complete her payments on time so as not to disappoint all the people who have put their trust in her. Dora plans to invest the requested loan in buying more merchandise of varied crafts to better stock her store and offer the best to the tourists who often visit it.
