Benkadi Ii Group

The ten members of the Benkadi II group are married women who are on average 41 years old and have 4 children. They mainly live in polygamous families in N'Gala, one of the villages in the Dioïla prefecture, Koukiro region, Second Administrative Region of the Republic of Mali. They have been working with Soro Yiriwaso in order to better organize their activities during the rainy season. They cultivate millet, groundnut and beans as cash crops. They are on their second planting loan and the first one was repaid on time.

With this new loan, Amatou S. plans to buy supplies and small equipment and to pay for the labour costs to maintain about 1.5 hectares of millet and groundnut. After the harvest, the crops will be sold in Massigui to a clientele of consumers and resellers. They hope to earn an income of 50,000 francs on average from this planting.

Les dix membres du groupe BENKADI II sont des femmes mariées qui ont une moyenne d’âge de 41 ans, 4 enfants et vivent majoritairement dans des familles polygames à N'Gala, un des villages de la préfecture de Dioïla, région de Koulikoro, 2ème région administrative du Mali.
Elles collaborent avec Soro Yiriwaso dans le but de pouvoir mieux organiser leurs activités hivernales. Les spéculations cultivées sont entre autres le petit mil, l’arachide et le haricot. Elles sont à leur deuxième prêt de campagne et le prêt précédent a été bien remboursé.
Avec ce nouveau prêt, AMATOU S. compte acheter les intrants, les petits équipements et payer les frais de main d’œuvre pour entretenir environ 1,5 hectare de petit mil et d’arachide.
Les productions sont vendues au niveau de Massigui après les récoltes à une clientèle composée de consommateurs et de revendeurs.
Elles comptent réaliser après la campagne, un bénéfice moyen de 50 000FCFA environ.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.
