A loan of $475 helped to purchase materials for her husband's shoemaking business.

Parveen's story

Parveen is 40 years old and was married to A. W. twelve years ago. She is the mother of seven children, two sons and five daughters. None of them could get an education due to financial constraints. She and her family live in a small city called Kasur which is located near Lahore, Pakistan. Kasur is famous for its leather industry.

Parveen’s husband makes shoes. He receives orders from different shoe shops and factories and fulfills orders on time to earn money. Parveen is a housewife, but she also supports her husband in his business by making shoes. She learned this skill from him, and now she has become an expert in this art. Parveen’s elder son and daughter also help their father in his business.

Parveen has applied for a loan from Asasah for her husband because he obtained a large order, and to fulfill it on time he requires more raw materials. With the loan he will buy such things as nails, shoe polish and leather in larger quantities, thus enabling him to fulfill the larger order and to maintain a good reputation by it.

Parveen is a regular loan user of Asasah and is in her third loan cycle. In previous years she has paid her installments on time and never missed any meetings. Parveen hopes that fulfillment of this order will make them huge profits and that their financial conditions will be far improved.
