Mẫn's story

Mẫn Thị D. is 38 years old, married and has two school-aged children. She lives in the town of huyện Yên Phong - tỉnh Bắc Ninh. Mẫn runs a recycling service in which she hauls away junk and other waste material for local businesses and community members. She has been in business for over six years and earns approximately 2,500,000 VND a month.

In 2009 Mẫn joined SEDA to gain access to its financial services. She has successfully repaid a previous loan of 5,152,000 VND from SEDA which she used to invest in expanding the business. Mẫn is now requesting a new loan of 8,288,000 VND which will be used for the same purpose. She plans to use all additional revenue to further improve and expand her business.
