A loan helped to construct a water storage dam for irrigation.

Manyara's story

Meet Manyara, a 50-year-old farmer from Manyangalo community. She lives with her spouse together with their four children, all in school. Manyara is a member of Umoja women's group that is under Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. She has been a farmer for the past two years prior to tailoring which she had taken as her profession since she found it not being as profitable as farming.

It’s through farming that Manyara is able to make ends meet in her family and to educate her children who are all in school. Having been a farmer for a period of five years, she encounters a challenge of lacking adequate water for her crops. This loan will help her construct a dam that she will use to harvest water for irrigation purposes. This will assure her of a harvest all round thus more income for her family's needs.

Manyara appreciates you checking her Kiva loan request and hopes for your support.
