A loan helped a member to buy cost-efficient maize seeds and fertilizer for the coming harvest season.

Phanice's Group's story

Phanice is 51 years old, the mother of eight, and a farmer with a reputation as a hard worker. Although she is the only person shown in the photo. she represents a group of thirteen farmers in the Matete District of Kenya.

Phanice started working with the One Acre Fund in 2012 because she wanted to earn enough money to feed her family. Since then, she has seen her life improve because she has consistently fed her family. This year she decided to represent her group because her team members proposed that she do it.

Phanice’s Group will receive supplies to plant a total of 6.75 acres of land. Additionally, some of the farmers in the group will buy two solar lights.
