Pocitos Group's story

The “Pocitos” (Little Wells) communal bank is starting its 11th cycle. It has 8 members led by Teodora, President, Valentina, Treasurer and Clara, Recording Secretary. Madame President had a business weaving blankets on order. Sales as well as production took place at her home. She more or less started the business when she joined Pro Mujer for the first time, that is to say, she’s been in this line of work for 4 years. Her first loan was for Bs.500 that she used to buy wool to make the blankets. The current loan request is for Bs.2000 to start another business: Salchipapas sales (fast food consisting of fried potatoes with pieces of fried sausage and dressings like mayonnaise, mustard and llajua, a spicy tomato and chili sauce). With respect to her history with Pro Mujer, she’s been in her association for over four years. The members of the “Pocitos” communal bank have a variety of businesses among which are: food sales, salchipapas sales, cosmetics sales, shoe sales, blanket weaving and sales.
