A loan of $550 helped buying sheep and animal feed to expand his business.

Jose Gerardo's story

José Gerardo is 68 years old and lives together with his family in the settlement of Santos V., a rural zone in the Túcume district. The area is known for its tourist attractions, since it has an archaeological complex of 26 pyramids which dates back to pre-Inca times. The area belongs to Lambayeque province and lies more than an hour from the city of Chiclayo.

José's work is raising and selling sheep. He has done this work for twelve years. He raises the animals in an environment set up near his house, and when they have reached a good level of development, he offers them for sale to his neighbors and to the traders operating in his settlement. He also offers them for sale at the markets ine Mochumí and Tucume. He depends on this work to cover the expenses of his family.

José wants to expand his business, buying more animals as well as animal feed to raise them under better conditions. To achieve this objective, he has decided to request a loan for the first time from Edpyme Alternativa, in the amount of 1500 Peruvian new soles.

José is very hard-working and responsible. In the area where he lives, his neighbors and others who know him consider him a steady and trustworthy person. He would like to keep working so that he can feel active and also get ahead.
