Lucia Del Carmen's story

Lucia is 30 years old and she lives in the municipality of Gualocoti in Morazan. She is a single mother and she has three children: Jose, is 10 years old and Silvia is 3 years old. She has a cafe where she makes and sells pastries, sandwiches, and tamales (chicken and bean varieties).

Lucia's business is pastry making. She learned the trade from her aunt and she has perfected her skills with time. She also knows how to make donuts and pizza and tamales. This work requires a lot of energy. She wakes at 3 am every morning to start her baking. She requests a loan to purchase ingredients such as flour and eggs and other necessary products to make her pastries. This will improve her family's income.

Lucia's dream is to expand her business so that she will be able to send her kids to school, either to trade school or to university.
