A loan of $550 helped to buy stock items for her store.

Vicenta's story

Vicenta, 43, has a live-in partner and four school aged children. They all live together in their own wood house in San Francisco located in the beautiful Ayacucho backcountry.

It all started with Vicenta’s yearning to own her own store. However, she lacked the budget to do so. The opportunity to work in farming presented itself and she went into cacao farming. Since then she earned a fair wage. After a time she was able to invest it in her store and gradually it’s establishing itself. She trusts that in time it will generate sufficient income to provide comfort for the family. She recognizes that the most important factor is stocking it with products in order to retain her customers. She usually works alone but sometimes her children help out. Her usual work schedule is from 5:30am until 9pm. Her plan for the future is to expand and equip her store aiming at encouraging her customers so that income will improve.

This is her first loan with MFP which she pledges to repay in a timely fashion. She is grateful to her communal group because it offers positive advantages.

The requested funds will be used to buy merchandise with which to stock her store.
