A loan of $4,050 helped a member to buy natural products.

Gotitas De Amor Group's story

The Gotitas D. Amor Community Bank is beginning its sixth loan cycle. Graciela is one of the sixteen members of the group and has been with Kiva partner FINCA for eight months. She is now taking on the role of Secretary to the Board of Directors of the bank for the first time. She enjoys the simplicity of obtaining loans and the opportunity to save money. Graciela is in a common-law marriage and lives in her own home with her three children aged 15, 12, and 7, all of whom are students. She earns her living by selling natural products from the brands BioLife, HerbaLife, Esika and Unique to her friends and relatives on credit. She also takes her products to communities in the rainforest and sells them on account. Graciela has land there too where she grows cocoa. She harvests it four times a year and then sells it. She plans to use her loan to buy more natural products as well as clothing as she wishes to expand her business and sell clothing too. Her dreams are to have a bigger business and to see her children in good jobs.
