A loan of $1,000 helped to buy stationery and notebooks.

Monica Del Pilar's story

Mónica is 39 years old and runs a stationery shop (in Ecuador it is caled a "bazar"). She lives in a peri-urban area of Guayaquil called "Paraíso" ("Paradise"), which is characterized by its dirt roads.

She started her stationery shop in order to support her family by selling notebooks, pens, and paper to her neighbors and acquaintances. When she got together enough money to set up her small stationery shop, she readjusted her house and set the shop up in the front part. She works every day from 6:30 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.

She wants to buy notebooks, pens, and showcases for her business with this loan. In the future, she hopes to expand her business and to finish building her house.
