Sixteen people make up a village loan, Mrs. Lee C., age 53, is the village bank president, having been selected by its sixteen members. This group is located in Tranh village, Kandal province. Each member will use their portion of their loan for different purposes.

Mrs. Lee C. is a farmer who owns a plot of land that she uses to cultivate rice for a living. In order to support this farm, she will use the loan to buy fertilizer and pesticide to cultivate rice.

Mrs. Lee C. is a widow with four children: One is a government worker, two are seamstresses in the garment factory, while the other is a student in the local school and also helps the mother on the farm.
