A loan helped to purchase more food stuffs to increase her business.


Fatu's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 39-year-old Fatu from Lunsar branch. She is married with four children between the ages of 4 and 17 years old and two of them are currently attending school. She started this business because she wants to take care of her family.

Fatu runs a retail business and sells food and other assorted items to her customers around the community. She has been in this business for 12 years. Fatu says her greatest challenge is sometimes business is slow and prices too expensive.

She has requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase more food stuffs to increase her business. Fatu says that the extra income from this loan will help her to take care of her family and to increase her business. In the future, she would like to expand to a large scale. She says thanks to BRAC and Kiva for their support.
