A loan of $375 helped purchase meat for distribution to the informal merchants.

Mery's story

Mery is 27 years old and lives with her mother and her two young children because her husband works abroad in search of a better future. This cheerful and hardworking woman earns her living by farming. As a little girl, Mery watched her parents complete their work. She learned the techniques required to cultivate and care for the land. Mery currently grows potatoes and ulluco with the help of hired laborers in order to obtain the greatest production. During the harvest season, all of her products are gathered and placed in heavy sacks before being transported to the wholesale market in the city where they are sold at regular prices. In addition, Mery sells mutton on a small scale in order to generate additional income so that her children can get ahead. She has plans to buy a few heads of cattle so that she can increase her production and earn more.

This is her tenth loan with MFP. Mery promises to be prompt with her loan payments. She expresses her thanks to everyone who made this loan possible since it will allow her to continue working. Mery plans to invest the loan she requested in the purchase of meat that she will sell later to the informal merchants who have placed several orders with her.
